A CHINESE manufacturer of "green" packaging is set to ride the wave of consumer environmental awareness and list on the Australian stock exchange.
Zhejiang Province-based LeeDee Holdings, which in English means "green earth" is China's largest manufacturer of cellophane packaging and one of the biggest producers in the world.
The company has lodged a prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and is offering up to 24 million fully paid ordinary shares at $0.50 a share to raise as much as $12 million.
The initial public offer is managed by Pitt Capital Partners Ltd and is due to close on 13 February 2008.
LeeDee said it planned to list on the ASX on 28 February with 73 million shares on issue.
Assuming the maximum subscription, the company will be valued at $36.5 million on listing. Established in 1987, LeeDee achieved sales revenue of $A20 million in fiscal 2007.
The company, which employs more than 300 people, says it's entire product range is made from natural products that are biodegradable within three to six months.
The cellophane is produced from cotton pulp using a process that the company has refined to reduce emission levels.
LeeDee said it has received ISO (International Organisation of Standardisation) accreditation for its enviromnental management system.
